Ukraine issues H1 steel export data

According to the data for the first half of 2009, Ukrainian exports of steel pipes decreased by 31.7 percent to 655,080 mt, its semi-finished steel product exports dropped by 14.9 percent to 6.001 million mt, its exports of flat rolled steel decreased by 40.2 percent to about 2.752 million mt, and its exports of long steel dropped by 38.4 percent to 2.245 million mt, all compared to the corresponding period of 2008. On the other hand, in January-June 2009 Ukraine registered a 59.4 percent decrease in its ferroalloy exports year on year to 244,190 mt, a 12.8 percent decline in its pig iron exports to 650,240 mt, and a 14.5 percent decrease in its coke exports to 385,560 mt, all compared to January-June 2008.
