Ukraine reports 19.8 percent rise in pig iron output for Jan-Nov

In November this year, Ukraine’s pig iron output amounted to 542,900 mt, down by 13.1 percent month on month and by 0.3 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Ukrainian Steel Association Ukrmetallurgprom.

In the given month, the country’s crude steel production declined by 10.4 percent compared to the previous month and by 0.9 percent year on year to 540,800 mt, while its rolled steel production came to 477,000 mt, moving up by 7.9 percent month on month and down by 4.4 percent from the same month last year.

Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of the current year, Ukraine produced 6.52 million mt of pig iron, up by 19.8 percent year on year, while its crude steel production in the given period totaled 7.03 million, growing by 23.1 percent, and rolled steel production was 5.74 million mt, rising by 18.0 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
