Ukraine’s ferroalloys output down 63 percent in H1

According to data issued for the first half of 2009, Ukraine registered a 62.8 percent decrease year on year in its ferroalloys production to 337,100 mt. In January-June 2009, Ukraine’s silicomanganese output decreased by 58 percent to 240,400 mt, its ferromanganese production went down by 85 percent to 37,200 mt, its ferrosilicon output dropped by 34.4 percent to 53,300 mt, while its metallic manganese production increased by 72.2 percent to 6,200 mt, all compared to the same period of last year. In June 2009, Ukraine increased its ferroalloys output by 26.2 percent to 84,900 mt compared to May 2009.
