Ukraine’s iron ore exports worth $1.13 billion in January-August

In the January-August period of this year, Ukraine exported 27.25 million mt of iron ore, down 9.9 percent year on year, worth a total of $1.13 billion, according to the data released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
 
In terms of value, the exports mostly went to China (38.51 percent), the Czech Republic (10.55 percent) and Poland (9.67 percent).
 
Meanwhile, in the first eight months of this year Ukraine imported 1.43 million mt of iron ore, down 6.9 percent year on year, worth a total of $59.8 million. The main supplier of iron ore to Ukraine in the given period was Russia, which supplied 99.97 percent of the total import volume.
