The Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) has issued the production results of its iron ore subsidiaries for the first four months of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-April 2009 Metinvest iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) registered a 38.9 percent decrease in its concentrate production, but a two percent increase in its pellets output, both compared to same period of 2008. The respective figures in metric tons were 1.353 million and 685,000.
During the first four months of 2009, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 4.053 million mt of iron ore concentrate - down 14 percent year on year, and 2.510 million mt of pellets - down 33.2 percent.
Meanwhile, in January-April 2009 Metinvest subsidiary Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) registered a 38 percent decrease year on year in its concentrate output to 2.974 million mt.
