Ural Steel, steel producing subsidiary of Russian iron ore and steel producer Metalloinvest Holding (Metalloinvest), has restarted operations at its coke battery No. 3, due to the need for additional coke output caused by the increase in demand for pig iron.

Ural Steel's coke battery No. 3 was switched to hot conservation mode in October 200 because of the decrease in coke demand.

Ural Steel is currently operating five coke batteries, which have a combined capacity of 4,500 mt of coke per day.
