US and Canadian rig counts continue to fluctuate

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending October 26, the US rig count fell by 13 to 1,826, following a four-rig increase the prior week. Year-on-year the US rig count is down 195 rigs. The oil rig count fell by another two over the week to 1,408, while the gas-direct rig count was 416, down 11 from a week ago.

On the other hand, Canada's rig count increased by 15 to 370, after falling by six a week ago. The rig count is 129 year-on-year.
