US CRC exports rise 27.6 percent in August

US exports of cold rolled sheets totaled 50,654 mt in August, up 27.6 percent from July but down 5.2 percent from August 2015 levels. By value, exports totaled $52.5 million, up 32.1 percent month-on-month and up 0.6 percent year-on-year.
 
The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in August, with 27,329 mt, compared to 21,406 mt in July and 28,398 in August 2015. The only other top destination (1,000 mt or more) was Canada with 22,130 mt, up from 16,955 in July and 22,274 mt from August 2015.
