US DOC continues AD duty order on malleable cast iron pipe fittings from China

Thursday, 23 April 2009 10:25:39 (GMT+3)   |

As a result of the determinations by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the International Trade Commission (ITC) that revocation of the antidumping duty order on malleable cast iron pipe fittings from China would likely lead to a continuation or recurrence of dumping and material injury to an industry in the US, the DOC announced on April 22, the continuation of the antidumping duty order on malleable cast iron pipe fittings from China.

On November 3, 2008, the DOC published the notice of initiation of the sunset review of the antidumping duty order on malleable pipe fittings from China. As a result of its review, the DOC determined on March 10, 2009, that the revocation of the antidumping duty order on malleable pipe fittings from China would likely lead to a continuation or recurrence of dumping and, therefore, notified the ITC of the magnitude of the margins likely to prevail should the order be revoked.

On April 9, 2009, the ITC determined that revocation of the antidumping duty order on malleable pipe fittings from China would likely lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to an industry in the US within a reasonably foreseeable future.

Therefore, the DOC determined to continue the antidumping duty order on malleable cast iron pipe fittings from China.
