Based on the affirmative final determinations by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the US International Trade Commission (ITC), the DOC announced on May 13 its imposition of an antidumping (AD) duty order on certain circular welded carbon quality steel line pipe from China.
On March 31, 2009, the DOC published in the Federal Register its final determination in the instant investigation.
On April 23, 2009, the ITC made an affirmative injury determination in the antidumping investigation of circular welded carbon quality steel line pipe from China.
Therefore, the DOC has instructed US Customs and Border Protection to terminate suspension of liquidation and to liquidate without regard to antidumping duties, i.e., release all bonds and refund all cash deposits, unliquidated entries of welded line pipe from China entered, or withdrawn from warehouse, for consumption after May 4, 2009.
The welded line pipe products that are the subject of this order are currently classifiable in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US under subheadings 7306.19.10.10, 7306.19.10.50, 7306.19.51.10, and 7306.19.51.50.
