US DOC makes final determination on sunset review of carbon steel butt-weld pipe fittings

On February 9, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the final results of its expedited sunset review of the antidumping orders against carbon steel butt-weld pipe fittings from Brazil, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand.

The DOC determined that revocation of these antidumping orders would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping.

Previously, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) also decided to conduct an expedited sunset review in connection with these orders.

The ITC's decision to conduct an expedited review virtually guarantees that the ITC will make an affirmative determination, which-combined with today's announcement by the DOC-means the antidumping orders will remain in effect.

The products covered by these investigations are currently classified in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) under item number: 7307.93.30.
