On June 17, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the partial rescission of the antidumping (AD) duty administrative review on corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products from South Korea.
On September 30, 2008, the DOC published the notice of initiation of this AD duty administrative review with respect to seven South Korean companies, namely, Dongbu Steel Co., Ltd. (Dongkuk), Haewon MSC Co., Ltd., Hyundai HYSCO, LG Chem, Ltd., Pohang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd./Pohang Coated Steel Co., Ltd., and Union Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd., for the period August 1, 2007, through July 31, 2008.
On March 27, 2009, the DOC corroborated that Dongkuk had no shipments of the subject merchandise to the US during the period of review, which was submitted by Dongkuk in a letter on October 20, 2008.
On April 14, 2009, the DOC published the notice of the preliminary rescission of this AD duty administrative review with respect to Dongkuk, and invited interested parties to comment.
Since the DOC has received no comments, it has determined that the review of Dongkuk should be rescinded. The review in question will remain in effect for all other companies initiated upon.
