The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced its rescission of the antidumping (AD) duty administrative review on certain hot rolled carbon quality flat steel products from Japan.

Following a timely request from Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC) for an administrative review to be conducted in relation to NSC, on July 29, 2009, the DOC published a notice of initiation of the AD duty administrative review of certain hot rolled carbon quality flat steel products from Japan for the period June 1, 2008 through May 31, 2009. NSC was the only party to request this administrative review.

On August 14, 2009, NSC timely withdrew its request for review. Thus, the DOC has rescinded the administrative review in question.
