US HDG exports rise 21.8 percent in August

US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strips totaled 107,733 mt in August, up 21.8 percent from July and up 13.9 percent from August 2015 levels. By value, exports totaled $106.8 million, up 22.4 percent month-on-month and up 16.9 percent year-on-year.
 
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in August, with 60,889 mt, compared to 45,168 mt in July and 50,911 in August 2015. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 44,776 mt, and Italy, with 1,010 mt.
