US HRC exports rise 19.8 percent in August

US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 60,528 mt in August, up 19.8 percent from July and up 6.9 percent from August 2015 levels. By value, exports totaled $44.9 million, up 22.4 percent month-on-month and up 10.6 percent year-on-year.
 
The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in August, with 39,526 mt, compared to 33,851 mt in July and 39,489 in August 2015. The only other top destination (1,000 mt or more) was Canada with 20,770 mt, up from 16,440 in July and 16,562 mt from August 2015.
