US ITC votes to continue cases on both steel grating and PC strand from China

On July 10, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) determined that there is a reasonable indication that a US industry is threatened with material injury by reason of imports of both certain steel grating and prestressed concrete steel wire strand (PC strand) from China that are allegedly subsidized and sold in the US at less than fair value.

All six commissioners of the ITC voted in the affirmative to continue the cases on both steel grating and PC strand from China.

As a result of the ITC's affirmative determinations, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) will continue to conduct its countervailing and antidumping duty investigations on imports of these products from China.

The ITC's preliminary countervailing duty determination for the PC strand case is due on or about August 20, 2009 and for the steel grating case is due on or about August 24, 2009, while its preliminary antidumping duty determination for PC strand is due on or about November 3, 2009 and for steel grating is due on or about November 5, 2009.
