US OCTG exports down 10.8 percent in August

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 14,571 mt in August 2023, down 10.8 percent from July and down 35.2 percent from August 2022. By value, OCTG exports totaled $31.9 million in August, compared to $37.4 million in the previous month and $61.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in August with 11,014 mt, compared to 12,721 mt in July and 14,409 mt in August 2022. Other top destinations included Brazil, with 1,068 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US OCTG exports in August.
