Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 8, the US rotary rig count increased by nine to 440 following a 10-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 88, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 10 to 351. The overall rig count is still down by 423 rigs, year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by five in the week ending July 8 to 81 following a stable trend the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 88 from the same week a year ago.
