Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 1, the US rotary rig count increased by 10 to 431 following a three-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 89, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 11 to 341. The overall rig count is still down by 431 rigs, year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count remained neutral in the week ending July 1 at 76, following a seven-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 63 from the same week a year ago.
