Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 3, the US rotary rig count increased by 4 to 408 following a neutral trend the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by five to 82, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by nine to 325. The overall rig count is still down by 460 rigs, year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by two in the week ending June 3 to 41, following a one-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 75 from the same week a year ago.
