Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 9, the US rotary rig count increased by 11 to 508 following an eight-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by four to 92, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by seven to 414. The overall rig count is still down by 340 rigs, year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by three in the week ending September 9 to 134 following a nine-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 51 from the same week a year ago.
