Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending October 14, the US rotary rig count increased by 15 to 539 following a two-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by 11 to 105, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by four to 432. The overall rig count is still down by 248 rigs, year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count remained unchanged at 165 in the week ending October 14, following a three-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 16 from the same week a year ago.
