Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending May 27, the US rotary rig count remained steady at 404 following a two-rig decline the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 87, while the number of rigs drilling for oil dropped by two to 316. The overall rig count is still down by 471 rigs, year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by one in the week ending May 27 to 44, following a one-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 55 from the same week a year ago.
