US starts investigation of rebar imports from Japan, Taiwan and Turkey

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has announced its initiation of an antidumping (AD) duty investigation regarding imports of rebar from Japan, Taiwan and Turkey and a countervailing duty (CVD) investigation into imports of Turkish rebar, following the application lodged by the Rebar Trade Action Coalition (RTAC), a coalition of US rebar producers. 
 
The commission is expected to reach a preliminary decision in the antidumping and countervailing duty investigations by November 4, 2016.
 
The products in question currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7213.10.00, 7214.20.00, and 7228.30.80.
