The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has decided to maintain the existing antidumping (AD) duty orders on carbon steel butt-weld pipe fittings from China, Taiwan, Brazil, Japan and Thailand.
The USITC stated that revocation of the current antidumping duty orders on the pipe fittings in question from the mentioned countries would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.
As a result, the USITC concluded that the existing orders on imports of these products from the five markets in question will remain in place.
On March 30, 1991, the US Department of Commerce (US DOC) initiated an AD review on butt-weld pipe fittings imported from China, covered by HS code 73079330. On May 18, 1992, the US Department of Commerce announced its final decision to impose antidumping duties on imports of carbon steel butt-welds pipe fittings from China ranging from 35.06 percent to 182.90 percent.
