Vale’s iron ore exports increase in January

Vale’s iron ore exports in January rose 6.4 percent, year-on-year, to 21.5 million mt, according to data released by Brazil's National Union of the Industry of Extraction of Iron and Base Metals (Sinferbase). The number includes exports by Vale’s affiliated companies.

Vale’s iron ore sales in the domestic market in January declined 1.8 percent, year-on-year, to 1.14 million mt.

Brazil’s total iron ore exports in January rose to 22.9 million mt, from 22.6 million mt in the same month of the year prior. Other producers include Anglo American, MMX and Samarco.
