Vale's iron ore exports up 4.95 percent in 2015

In December last year, Brazilian miner Vale's iron ore export volume totaled 28.64 million mt, up 5.4 percent compared to December 2014 and rising by 15.4 percent compared to November, according to Brazil's National Union of the Industry of Extraction of Iron and Base Metals (Sinferbase). In 2015, Vale's iron ore exports increased by 4.95 percent year on year to 293.4 million metric tons. 
 
Meanwhile, in December last year Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market amounted to 1.03 million mt, decreasing by 20.5 percent year on year and up by 5.3 percent month on month. In 2015, Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market totaled 12.57 million mt, falling by 15.8 percent year on year.
