French tube manufacturer Vallourec has announced that it has received an order for 400 tons of MSH structural hollow sections which will be used as basic structures constituting the corrosion protection system of the Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm. Walney Extension is a project of DONG Energy UK in the Irish Sea comprising up to 90 turbines with a total capacity of up to 660 MW.

The MSH sections provided by Vallourec will serve to fix a set of sacrificial anodes which help slowing down the oxidation of the wind turbines’ metal surface.
