France-based pipe manufacturer Vallourec has announced that it has signed a contract with Brazilian state-owned energy company Petrobras to supply 1,800 mt of premium carbon steel tubes with glass-reinforced epoxy liners technology, together with the corrosion-resistant alloy accessories.

These products, to be manufactured at Vallourec’s plant in Barreiro, Brazil, will be used in various offshore development wells, mainly off the Brazilian coastline in the Campos pre-salt basin. This contract is in addition to the three-year long-term agreement with Petrobras for the supply of OCTG tubes announced in January last year.

In addition, in July last year, Vallourec supplied 48,000 mt of line pipes for Petrobras’ Buzios oil field, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
