Austrian steelmaker voestalpine AG has announced its financial results for the first half ended September 30 of the fiscal year 2018-19.
Accordingly, voestalpine's net profit in the the first half of the fiscal year amounted to €316 million, falling by 18.7 percent compared to the second quarter of the previous financial year. In the first half of the business year 2018-19, the revenues of the company amounted to €6.7 billion, up 5.9 percent year on year, achieving a new semi-annual record. In the given period, the company's EBITDA was €860 million, decreasing by 11.2 percent year on year, while the EBITDA margin stood at 12.9 percent, compared to 15.4 percent in the same period of the previous year.
The company’s CEO Wolfgang Eder said that, having examined the current figures for the business year 2018-19, the company expects to get a profit from operations (EBIT) of under €1 billion and an operating result (EBITDA) under €1.8 billion.
