In August this year, Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporizhstal's finished steel product output decreased by 5.4 percent to 275,100 mt, its pig iron production went down by 8.8 percent to 297,300 mt, while its crude steel production declined by 7.8 percent to 322,200 mt, all year on year. The company stated that the reduced production figures in August this year, compared to the same period last year, are due to the implementation of its modernization program and the overhaul of production equipment.

In the January-August period this year, Zaporizhstal’s finished steel product output remained stable at 2.25 million mt, while its crude steel production decreased by 1.12 percent to 2.59 million mt, both compared to the same period of 2015.
