UK car output up by 1.5%

Automobile production in UK soared by 1.5% in the second quarter compared with the previous three-month period, according to official figures. However, the figures reveal that total car production recorded a 1.1% drop compared to the same period of last year. National Statistics office said that vehicle production for the domestic market showed a 4.7% rise while production allocated for the export market fell by 1.4%. On an annual basis, production allocated for the local market decreased by 6.7% while export production rose by 1.7%. These figures mark that UK's automotive market shows a strong growth.
