The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries is $960/mt today, against $950/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In April, Brazil exported 28,400 mt and imported 57,100 mt of HDG, against respectively 17,500 mt and 51,400 mt in March.
The destinations of the exports in April were the US (17,600 mt at $1,049/mt) and South American countries (10,800 mt at $1,497/mt), FOB conditions.
The exporters were CSN (14,600 mt at $1,060/mt), Usiminas (10,000 mt at $1,419/mt), ArcelorMittal (3,700 mt at $1,285/mt), and traders (100 mt at $1,275/mt)
The imports were from Asia (55,100 mt, of which 52,300 mt from China at $692/mt), and Europe (2,000 mt at $1,147/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,300/mt ($1,228/mt), against BRL 6,250/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
