CRC import price offers declines in Brazil

CRC imports in Brazil are currently being negotiated in average at $820/mt, CFR conditions, against $850/mt two weeks ago, according to sources.

In March, Brazil exported 19,800 mt and imported 54,600 mt of CRC, against 12,000 mt and 32,300 mt, respectively,  in February.

The exports in March were destined to Mexico (9,900 mt at $784/mt), the US (7,700 mt at $894/mt and South America (2,200 mt at $1,090/mt), FOB conditions. The exporters were Usiminas (17,000 mt at $828/mt), and ArcelorMittal (2,800 mt at $1,062/mt).

The imports were from Asia (53,400 mt, of which 43,900 mt from China at $642/mt), and Sweden (1,200 mt at $1,132/mt), also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is now offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 6,450/mt ($1,287/mt), against BRL 6,500/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
