Turkey’s re-rolling companies have mainly cut their local prices over the past week, given the low domestic activity after the local elections, the uncertainty in the hot rolled coil market and the accumulation of stocks. As for exports, the price change has been minor since larger discounts had been provided for foreign buyers previously.
Currently, domestic HDG Z70 HDG offers are at $800-830/mt ex-works, while Z100 material is at around $850-870/mt ex-works depending on the supplier, down $20/mt on the upper end over the past week. As regards exports, Z100 HDG is available at $770-810/mt FOB, almost in line with the previous price levels.
Turkey’s PPGI commercial quality prices have dropped by $20/mt over the past week to $960-980/mt ex-works, but some suppliers are still aiming for $1,000/mt ex-works. PPGI export offers have stabilized for now at $95-970/mt FOB, almost in line with the domestic levels.
In the cold rolled coil (CRC) segment, Turkey’s re-rolling companies have decreased domestic offers by $20/mt to $770-800/mt ex-works, while export offers have rebounded to $760-770/mt FOB and up to $780/mt FOB in some cases. “For many companies, selling coated steel is nowadays more crucial and the pressure on them to push CRC business is simply weaker,” a Turkish producer told SteelOrbis.
