Turkey’s flat steel re-rolling companies have decided to decrease their official prices for cold rolled and coated coils for the export markets, where demand and the competition has been exerting sizeable pressure. In the domestic market, some adjustments have been made by those who still have April production in hand to sell, while those offering for May and June prefer to stick to higher levels.
Currently, in the export segment, Turkey’s HDG is available at $770-820/mt FOB, which is $20/mt down from the lower end of the range. While the official offers for May production are reaching even $850/mt FOB nowadays, even $810-820/mt FOB prices are not considered workable at the moment. Export offers for PPGI have decreased by $20/mt over the past week to $960-980/mt FOB, with some additional discounts applicable, SteelOrbis understands. Turkey’s CRC prices are at $750-770/mt FOB for exports nowadays, relatively stable from last week. However, some of the suppliers who are not under pressure to sell CRC for now are insisting on $780-790/mt FOB as minimum prices.
In the domestic market, the general offer levels for HDG in Turkey have remained at $890-900/mt ex-works for Z100 material with additional $20-30/mt discounts possible. The Z70 material is on offer at $810-835/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned. Local PPGI offers are at $980-1,000/mt ex-works and discounts are possible, while some mills are still indicatively offering at $1,020-1,030/mt ex-works for material with a longer lead time. In the cold rolled coil (CRC) segment, official offers have remained stable at $790-820/mt ex-works.
