Over the past week, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their official export prices at $630-640/mt FOB amid sluggish international demand. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are standing at $630-640/mt FOB, for April-early May shipment. A few re-rollers are applying aggressive pricing policies and even testing $620/mt FOB, SteelOrbis has heard.
The SteelOrbis daily Turkish billet import reference price stands at $530-540/mt CFR, versus $515-540/mt CFR a week ago.
Most buyers in the MENA region are postponing their new purchases until after the end of Ramadan, while demand in the Balkan region is also sluggish. Following the recent import scrap deals in Turkey, most merchant bar re-rollers are expected to revise their export offers next week.
