In a letter to customers Friday, Gerdau Long Steel North America announced a transaction price increase of $20/nt ($1.00 cwt. or $22/mt) for all rebar products, effective with shipments as of June 2, 2014.

As of press time, other mills have not responded, but sources tell SteelOrbis that Nucor will most likely respond in kind with its own $20/nt increase.
