SteelOrbis has been informed that, today, February 12, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 23,500/mt ($638/mt) ex-works, amid ongoing currency fluctuations.  In addition, the mill has kept its wire rod price unchanged at $650/mt ex-works today. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 30,70 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.

The mill had raised its rebar price by TRY 250/mt at the start of February, and had hiked it by another total TRY 200/mt last week, in order to offset currency fluctuations, with minor changes in prices on US dollar basis.

Currently, most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are offering official rebar prices at $625-640/mt ex-works, while additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers only.
