Over the past week, Turkish official domestic merchant bar prices have mostly remained stable on Turkish lira basis, while only falling by TRY 350/mt ($8/mt) in the Iskenderun region due to the aggressive pricing strategy there. In addition, one Iskenderun-based mill has set its equal angle price at TRY 19,500-19,810/mt ($606-615/mt) ex-works this week.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for April delivery or from stocks. A few re-rollers are also offering their HEA/HEB (550-700 mm, standard) at TRY 26,750/mt ($831/mt), versus TRY 26,550/mt ($821/mt) a week ago, for delivery to the Karabuk region.
Demand is generally sluggish ahead of the local elections next Sunday.
