Over the past week, Turkish official domestic merchant bar prices have risen by TRY 200-300/mt on Turkish lira basis, with minor changes on US dollar basis, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations. In addition, one Iskenderun-based mill has set its equal angle price at TRY 19,850-20,160/mt ($618-628/mt) ex-works this week.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for April delivery or from stocks. A few re-rollers are also offering their HEA/HEB (550-700 mm, standard) at TRY 26,550/mt ($827/mt) for delivery to the Karabuk region. The general sentiment on the demand side is negative due to Ramadan and the unclear financial situation in the country.
