Local Turkish official wire rod prices increase

Over the past week, Turkish mills have raised their wire rod prices by $10-20/mt amid costlier scrap and billet.

An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price at $630/mt ex-works today, December 4.

Most Turkish mills are attempting to increase their wire rod prices sharply following the price surge in the last few import scrap deals. However, most local buyers are going through difficult times due to the unclear financial situation in the country and loan repayments. In addition, the adverse weather conditions have caused a slowdown in the construction sector.
