Over the past week, Turkish mills have increased their official wire rod prices by $10/mt in the Izmir and Marmara regions, while wire rod prices in the Thrace region have remained stable. Additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers.

One Iskenderun-based mill was offering wire rod at $640/mt ex-works yesterday, January 8, and has raised its wire rod price by $10/mt to $650/mt ex-works today, SteelOrbis has heard.

Kardemir is still offering its price for 6-27 mm SAE 1008-1010 wire rod at $630/mt ex-works today, stable compared to Thursday, January 4.

Most mills are attempting to increase their wire rod prices, while most buyers are in wait-and-see mode and are taking their time monitoring import scrap and billet prices.
