Over the past week, Turkish mills have decreased their wire rod prices on average by $2.5-10/mt amid the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment. Sources report a few mills are still applying aggressive pricing policies in order to generate sales before Ramadan and are offering additional discounts for serious buyers.

One Iskenderun-based mill has also decreased its wire rod price, by $10/mt to $630/mt ex-works over the past week.

The general sentiment on the demand side is negative and most buyers are exerting pressure for additional discounts.
