Today, March 14, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained unchanged on Turkish lira basis with minor changes on US dollar basis amid the ongoing currency fluctuations, compared to Monday, March 11. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 23,000-23,600 mt or $597-612/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 32,13.

Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price at $620/mt ex-works today. The general official rebar price range in the Marmara and Izmir regions varies at $595-620/mt ex-works. According to sources, the workable rebar price is standing at $590-600/mt ex-works.

One Iskenderun-based mill is currently offering its official rebar price at TRY 24,150/mt ($626/mt) ex-works, while an additional discount is also applicable for serious buyers.

Most local buyers are monitoring the import scrap and billet price trends and taking their time before concluding new purchases during Ramadan. In addition, Turkey’s central bank will announce its interest rate decision on Thursday, March 21, which will impact currency fluctuations.

As of today, rebar offers in the Turkish spot market are as follows:
