Today, April 15, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 100-200/mt in the local currency, while falling by $4-8/mt on US dollar basis, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations, as compared to Thursday, April 4. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 23,200-24,000 mt or $597-617/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 32.40.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price at $620/mt ex-works today. The general official rebar price range in the Marmara and Izmir regions varies at $600-620/mt ex-works, versus $597-620/mt ex-works before the holiday.
One Iskenderun-based re-roller has issued its rebar price at TRY 23,500/mt ($604/mt) ex-warehouse today.
A Samsun-based mill is offering rebar at TRY 24,100/mt (620$/mt) ex-works today.
Most buyers are monitoring the import scrap and billet price trends and are taking their time before concluding new purchases as they wait for the market to gain more clarity over the next couple of days.
