Today, April 1, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 100-200/mt ($2-6/mt) amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment, compared to Thursday, March 28. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 23,300-24,100 mt or $601-621/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 32.33.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price at $620/mt ex-works today. The general official rebar price range in the Marmara and Izmir regions varies at $600-625/mt ex-works, versus $595-620/mt ex-works a week ago. However, the workable rebar price seems close to the lower end for now.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 24,100/mt ($621/mt) ex-works, while a few re-rollers in the region are offering rebar at TRY 24,100-24,200/mt ($621-624/mt) ex-warehouse today.
Ahead of the Eid holiday, the general sentiment on the demand side is negative.
