Turkey’s Kardemir has opened its rebar sales at TRY 19,210/mt ($615/mt), excluding VAT, today, February 29. The rebar price indicates a decrease of TRY 290/mt ($20/mt) compared to Thursday, February 15, amid weaker import scrap prices and the ongoing currency fluctuations. According to sources, the mill has succeeded in selling around 12,500 mt of rebar so far, supported by its advantageous payment terms.

Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are offering official rebar prices at $605-625/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.

The mill is selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 31.22.
