Over the past week, Turkish mills have increased their wire rod prices by $10/mt in the Thrace and Iskenderun regions against the backdrop of the positive sentiment in the import scrap and billet segments, while wire rod prices have remained stable in the rest of the country.

An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price at $620/mt ex-works today for January delivery.

Kardemir had issued its price for 6-27 mm wire rod of SAE 1008-1010 grade at $605/mt ex-works on Wednesday, November 22.

Most local buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases and are exerting pressure for further discounts due to the sluggish demand in the construction sector amid adverse weather conditions.
