Turkish domestic official wire rod prices stable

Over the past week, Turkish mills have remained their official wire rod prices at unchanged levels against the backdrop of the Europeans’ firm price strategy in the import scrap segment, while this strategy does not seem to be supported by buyers so far. Sources report that a few mills are offering additional discounts to serious buyers in order to generate sales.

One Iskenderun-based mill has kept its wire rod price unchanged at $650/mt ex-works today, SteelOrbis has heard.

Most local buyers are facing difficulties in repaying loans and are taking their time before concluding new purchases.
